Thanks to all out Sponsors, the noble volunteers who turned out to help us mark out the plots and our band of volunteers who make an early start to Steward on the day.

We are indebted to our Judges, without whom the whole affair would be pointless, our ploughmen, for supporting the match and last, but by no means least
our long suffering Secretary, who not only has to organise the administration but also has to put up with the Chairman for most of the day .
Thanks to Petra Martin and Willy White for the pictures

The Early arrivals had to find their way through the morning fog but as the numbers built up the Sun and wind cleared the gloom with the promise of a fine day ahead.

Sunrise

By the time the ploughman had unloaded and parked up behind mission control to collect their plot numbers the mist had almost cleared.

Pre match parking

Thanks to all those who turned out for stewarding duties the formalities took very little time and the competitors were soon heading out to mark out their opening furrow.

Two 13 year olds, John Alexander (left) and Zac Fermor, both using Fergie T20s were in competition for the Young Ploughman Award.

This year Zac Fermor took top honours but we shall see how this challenge progresses in the year to come.

Clarke

One ploughman no longer in the Young Ploughman category is regular competitor Bill Clarke.

The most senior ploughman on the field,, Bill was in action again this year with his David Brown tractor and plough.

Derek Oliver another regular Competitor, with not quite so many years on the clock! On his way to a class win in the Vintage Mounted Class.

It was good to see former North East Hants Champion Derek Turner back in action
after a difficult year.

By coincidence the 2018 Reserve and Champion ploughmen, Peter Crockford and Derek Allen, were in adjacent plots and were neck and neck as they worked towards their respective finishes and their Lunch.

1st Class Dining

Peter Crockford's Plough was obviously the 1st Class dining area on the day with Class 1 winner Keith Giles on the draw bar, Reserve North East Hants Champion Peter Crockford occupying the centre seat and the 2018 Champion Ploughman Derek Allen on his right.
